I was good with the one we had.
We cleaned out A LOT of the shrubs a few years ago to open it up so it would be more welcoming. But Mike had other plans spinning around
in the back of his busy brain.

So at the end of April, Mike made plans; plans to make this porch the kind of place where our friends and family could sit and chat, and yell at stupid people driving by way to fast!
Digressing again, sorry....
Here it is during the pour.
So here it is, after the pour but not quite finished. We, with the help of the Hammond's, pulled out all those bricks that used to be in the front, and had the cement guys pour a new pad and replace a little sidewalk. Mike took the railings in and had them sand blasted and powder coated.
But that wasn't enough...are you kidding? leave it at that? No way.
(I should say, " But wait!...there's more!")
We stained the porch, steps, pad, and sidewalk. (I'm still scrapping the stain off my finger and toe nails...no, I didn't wear shoes...you're surprised?

So here it is. So much darker then I wanted it. But it is what it is and I'm getting over it. What makes me most excited about the new porch is figuring out what I'm going to do with it for
HALLOWEEN! OH YEA BABY!
