September 11th ...One of my favorite days!

Because of this cute girl!

Long before the Twin Towers and the lives of thousands were destroyed, September 11th was one of the most beautiful days of my life. Morgan Nicole Valentine was born. Isn't she beautiful. (That's really not a question posed, it's a fact!) She's beautiful. Inside and out.

This is a shot of Morgan getting a barely there look at the Raven Simone concert at the Utah State Fair. I couldn't get tickets so we and 100 or so other parents stood just like this trying to give our girls a glimpse of "cheetah girl" Raven. She watched the show while I stood there eye level with dozens of kid butts! (Whatever it takes to make my girl happy.)

This is the scrapbook page from Morgans birthday September 11th 2001, She was 5.
What the journaling says is: What a tough day. As Brett and I sat this morning watching the terrorists fly planes into the World Trade Center Towers, Killing thousands of innocent people, sweet Morgan came bounding out of her room screaming,

"It's my Birthday!"

How do you go from shear horror to happy excitement for the sake of a 5 year old?

This is Morgan on the 5th anniversary of 9/11 and more importantly her 10th birthday! Yeah! She got these BEAUTIFUL flowers, a balloon and chocolates from her big sister Bethany, ordered on line and delivered to her school. Bethany wrote some sweet sister stuff in the card and Morgan smiled so big as she read it.

In five years Morgan doesn't really ask the questions anymore about the planes and the buildings that fell and the people stuck in the buildings and why! for Heaven sake did it have to happen on HER birthday??? She didn't go there this year, and I tear up now, grateful that she may be feeling peace,

able to just enjoy her special day.
