Anyone can be confident with a full head of hair. But a confident bald man - there's your diamond in the rough. Larry David

These two were way past needing a little trim! Stockton's fur was so matted that we had to do
this to him!
Talk about embarrassed! It took awhile for him to get over it. But then...oh my, when he realized how much better he felt with the new do, he started acting like a puppy again!

This puppy on the other hand...Holy Mackerel! We knew he had a plan, but picture day couldn't come soon enough! We also know that there is a picture in between these before and after shots you could call the "during" shot. It's that time where Nate goes to get a "special" haircut just for school pictures and then immediately heads back to the salon to hide any traces of whatever freakish hair style he chose for school pics! Who can forget the mullet in last years class pictures? How could a mother be more proud???

How I spent my Summer Vacation

When you're sick, there really is only so long you can lay in bed. Staying in bed all day is totally over rated. It's ridiculous really. let's be honest...even when you have a good lookin' husband in bed with you, getting cookie crumbs in the sheets which is perfectly OK with me "for obvious reasons" if you know that little innuendo,... you still need to get on with your day ladies and gentleman!!! Good heavens.

So here I am, out of bed because I've had it with horizontal. So here's what happened during my summer vacation.

First, Mike and Brett took a few last pictures of the truck that the two of them worked so hard on over the last 4 years. I think it was a tougher goodbye than either of them will let on. I'm so proud of all the hard work and dedication Brett gave to working on this project, and as always I'm impressed with Mike and his desire to spend time with his boy, trickin' out an old baby blue 76 GMC Half Ton and turning it into something many people, like our Stake Pres. have covented. Oh yes, I said coveted!

I got a Mani/Pedi at this RAD new place in my front yard called Fantastic Nails! Morgan and Elizabeth did a Fantastic Job.

Morgan and I were in the Days of 47 youth Parade with our Stake. It was televised, so as soon as we got home Morgan checked the recording to see if we were on TV and after she found us she kept rewinding it with a huge smile on her face! "I'm on TV Mom!"

Then Beth flew into town for a nice long visit!
Yeah us!!!
So we went to the Pool. Beth was so great with Morgan. Here they are racing each other down the water slides.

Then family and friends spent the 24th at Butlerville Days, building prize winning Sand Castles, catching up with old friends, and watching the fireworks

The Girls and I went to Echo Reservoir with friends and I got a giant bruise on my calf from the wave runners! But it was worth it.

Hailey, Morgan's other sister came for a few days to hang out! I love having the girls together; they're so fun. It's hard to believe they hate the camera...no, that's not true (Sorry that was a little too Mark Hacking, if you know what I mean.) i apologize.

We sent Nate to BYU Idaho for EFY. After all the whinning He really did have a great time! I knew he would. I mean...look at the girls that paid attention to him even with that HAIR! (more on that to come)

Mike and I went to take some pics of Nate's car project. He's sooooo close to driving that tiny little thing to school next week!

Oh and let's not forget the mere moment in time that the Hammonds and we, tried to sell the Andrus' house for them while they were in Hawaii, foiled only by some busy bodies that very night we put the sign up, who felt like it was a terrible joke to play, on anyone who couldn't figure out that $219.000 in this area has to be a joke. Or, that Jim and Jen would actually play the Lottery. Whatever... HEY FOLKS, JIM AND JEN THOUGHT IT WAS GREAT! LEAVE IT ALONE! I'll say no more.
I'm sure there's more to come and some things I've forgotten. Mike and the boys went to Rush's Snakes and Arrows concert, the boys went to Ratt and Poison
(No mom , not rat poison RATT and POISON... 80's bands)
Anyway, I've now been vertical to long. time to get some "not very fun" drugs in me and try going to bed again.

Independance Day

For breakfast we went down the street to eat with the Neighbors...and the fire department. I helped flip a few pancakes, harassed Michael Sanders then sat down to eat with Morgan and Mike. As much as I would have liked to sleep in on this day off I walked with Jen at 6:30, cleaned up and headed for the breakfast.

I could be wrong but I think more neighbors show up every year. My theory is that they're figuring out that we're not staging a mass missionary lesson for all the non LDS in the neighborhood...WE JUST WANT TO EAT WITH YOU!

We just hung out at home afterward. I weeded while Mike played with the camera and got a bunch of pictures of the front yard.

That night we got some dinner with the Hammonds at Red Robin. I don't think they were happy to see us. I guess Red Robin employees like to see fireworks too and were trying to close early. Whoda thunk it.
After we ate and I got my white shirt released from the sticky stuff on the chair (yea gross) we went to the Taylor's and watched fireworks.

Ya know, with all the places we could go to see BIG Fireworks sometimes it's just nice to sit with your neighbors and watch it the way we did when we were kids.
