Meet the Patch Family

Back in August we went on a hike. A few days later the Patches' took me back up the mountain for a photo shoot. I don't know about them, but I had so much fun! I'm not a photographer, I don't know what all the bells and whistles do one my awesome camera, but Chris and Monica trusted me enough to spend an evening with them; swatting mosquitoes and walking off the "Designated Path" to try and get some pictures they might like.

Go to the Slide show to the right to see my other shots. (Chris may have a few in there too. Gotta give the man his props!)

These people are way to cute for their own good...and I think Will knows that.

...and that's dangerous.

I don't know how it happened...

Mike and I had this discussion the other night about how NOT popular we were in High School. I'm assuming Suzy; Nate's Mother wasn't super popular either but I can't confirm that. So we are amazed every time our kids get asked to a dance! Mike and I were never lucky that way.

This is how Laura answered Nate's Invite to Homecoming.
Cheese Pizza with M & M's that spell out
"HECK YEA!"
( Chocolate and garlic...not a good combination)

the Perks of having a Dad with a car dealership
Honda S2000 Convertible
and I must say right here that I think it was very thoughtful of her to wear flats to homecoming. It may not look like it because Nate is standing "uphill" But she is the same height as Nate! Even a pump would have kicked her head above his!
Well, MISTER POPULAR had himself a bit of a problem the other night when
Jenna asked him to MORP (prom spelled Backwards)
and then 20 minutes later...
Emma asked him to MORP!
So, Nate did the sweet thing and accepted the invite from Jenna because she asked first, even though he really wanted to go with Emma, and I got some lovely pumpkins to decorate my front yard with!

Thank you Emma    :)

Because of her...

...I'm feeling a little older.
...I'm feeling the end of parenthood coming faster then I want it to.
...I need to be a better Mom then ever...because she's my last    chance to do it right.
...I laugh.
...I want to be the best everything I can be.
...I worry.
...I remember what it was like to be 12 years old!

State Fair...Again

I'm kind of hoping that I'll feel comfortable letting Morgan and her friends go ALONE next year. I don't know why I didn't enjoy myself as much this time around. I was feeling a little anxiety I guess. Lots of walking and people. The only things that were different were the butter bull, which was actually a Rockettes style line up of cartoon farm animals this time, and the other was the fact that I put 3 pictures in the Photography Contest!
Halls of the Hoover Dam, Mikey, If you look closely you can see me, reflected in his glasses, and Chris Patch at Lake Powell. I didn't win but it was good for me to try.
We did the perfunctory "Sitting on the curb" where Morgan split her head open when she was 4 years old.

Then we wandered and looked at the animals and crafts. We ate the MOST EXPENSIVE FOOT LONG HOT DOGS EVER! We went to the rodeo for a few minutes and watched a little Team Roping and Mutton Bustin'.
You can if you'd like, double click on the slideshow to the right and see the other pictures from the day and even make a comment on the pictures I believe.

Sunday, Rainy Sunday

To see this picture; taken at 4:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon you'd
never know there was a storm on the way.
(the bee picture's for you MOM!)
But yea...it showed up around 6:00 p.m.
And Morgan made excellent use of her time playing in the rain, and heaven forbid I don't get pictures of EVERYTHING she does! She IS super cute in these shots, she can't help it.

This is the comment my sweet friend Kristen left on my facebook account about her memory of me in the rain:

Let the Fantasy Football Begin!!

John, John...always finding new ways to keep my husband busy. Seriously! What if Mike actually WINS this year? What do I do with that very large Trophy? It doesn't match...or blend
in, with anything in my house! You know how anal retentive I am about that!!!! LOL

Sunday was Draft Pick night. I forgot just how long it takes for...what is it? 10 men (and I use that word loosely because Julie and some boys are playing this year) to pick 14 players!!! My imaginary money is on Julie for two reasons. 1) She's been doing this for years on her family league and two...I think the trophy would look beautiful at the newly remodeled Hammond home. :)
